Tiger take 6-foot-6 slugger from Puerto Rico in 2nd round

DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers selected outfielder Reynaldo Rivera with their 57th overall pick in the 2017 draft Monday night.

Rivera, a native of Puerto Rico, played for Chipola Junior College in Marianna, Fla.

Rivera is a left-hander and stands 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds. He can also play first baseman when or if he grows out of a corner outfielder role.

The Tigers selected Faedo out of high school in 2014 but he opted to play for the Gators.
