MINNEAPOLIS -- When closer Shane Greene gave up a two-run home run in the ninth inning Sunday at Seattle, it gave the Detroit Tigers bullpen an unwelcome distinction.
The Tigers now have more blown saves (11) than actual saves (10).
Only the underachieving Los Angeles Dodgers have a worse ratio.
Two of the Tigers' blown saves came over the weekend in Seattle, dropping the Tigers' record in one-run games to 10-10.
Blown saves aren't necessarily the best way to measure the success of a bullpen. Joe Jimenez, probably the Tigers' most consistently reliever to this point, has contributed two blown saves this year.
