Starter Tim Adleman struggled and the offense had a brutal day at the plate as the Hens went down in defeat on Thursday. Adleman gave the Hens some length, going six innings, but at the expense of five earned runs. The Hens knotted things up at two apiece in the top of the fifth on a two-run triple from Pete Kozma. Unfortunately Adleman allowed three in the bottom of the frame, and Jose Fernandez put the game out of reach when he surrendered two runs in the seventh. The offense managed just five hits and didn’t draw a walk in this one.
