DETROIT -- Jose Iglesias spent Friday undergoing additional tests and opinions on what has been diagnosed as a right middle finger contusion, as doctors and the potential Gold Glove shortstop try to get an idea how long he'll be out.
"It's early," Iglesias said. "We'll see how it feels in the next few days and we'll go from there."
For now, the Tigers are planning on Iglesias being out at least the next couple of days, which is why they called up Dixon Machado from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.
Iglesias suffered the injury on a fouled bunt attempt Thursday night, sending him to the ground in obvious pain.
