Matt Hall and the Hens’ bullpen put together a fantastic performance, but they were matched by veteran Ervin Santana as the offense struggled. Hall went four innings, allowing just one hit while punching out six hitters. Ethan DeCaster and Eduardo Jimenez each allowed a run, while John Schreiber spun a pair of perfect innings to close things out. The offense meanwhile put plenty of men on base but ran into four outs trying to steal bases. Willi Castro and Victor Reyes each had two hits, while Ronny Rodriguez hit a solo home run in the seventh for the Hens’ only run.
