Detroit -- It's awfully tough to imagine, given the rotten state of both parties these days.
But in 2011, the Detroit Tigers and Wednesday's opposing pitcher, Ivan Nova, actually squared off in the postseason.
Back then, of course, the Tigers were one of the best teams in all of baseball, and Nova was seemingly a future star, pitching for the New York Yankees.
Yeah, things have changed just a bit -- though Nova did his best to turn back the clock Wednesday at Comerica Park, allowing just five hits over eight scoreless innings to beat the Tigers, 8-1, and send Detroit to a record of 33-78 as the pursuit of MLB infamy continues.
