Detroit — Maybe something clicked mechanically. Maybe, for the first time since his Tommy John surgery, he feels like himself on the mound. Or maybe he just got fed up with getting beat up.
Whatever the case, Bruce Rondon has been a different pitcher lately. He hasn’t been scored upon in his last four outings, allowing just a hit with five strikeouts and no walks in 32/3 innings.
“The last three outings, for sure, he’s pitched good,” manager Brad Ausmus said. “There’s just been a different look in his eyes. When he gets out there he seems to have this look in his eye and his body language says, ‘I’m going to get this guy out.
