Still no word on absence of Tigers broadcasters Mario Impemba, Rod Allen

CHICAGO -- There is still no word why the Detroit Tigers two primary television announcers were absent from the broadcast booth on Wednesday night.

Play-by-play Mario Impemba and analyst Rod Allen broadcast the first two games of the series on Monday and Tuesday but were not on the air for Wednesday's series finale against the Chicago White Sox.

Matt Shepard and Kirk Gibson arrived in Chicago Wednesday to take their place.

FOX Sports Detroit, which owns the rights to broadcast Tigers games, has not responded to a request for comment from MLive.

Viewers said the change was not addressed on the telecast.
