A question from Thursday morning’s pregame media session with Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus:
“Should we read into anything that Steven Moya is playing leftfield?” a reporter asked.
“Yeah,” Ausmus said. “You probably should.”
Moya, who is a rightfielder by trade, made his first start of the season in leftfield with Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday night. He hit his 19th home run of the season.
And if Ausmus’ words are any indication, he will likely be one of the Tigers’ minor-league call-ups when rosters expand on Tuesday.
J.D. Martinez has rightfield locked down. Anthony Gose and Rajai Davis can platoon in centerfield.
