Ron Gardenhire’s new coaching staff continues to be unveiled, and on Wednesday it was announced that Steve Liddle would be taking the place of the ousted Gene Lamont.
Liddle will be best known to Minnesota Twins fans as the team’s bench coach for eight seasons from 2002-2010. He then switched roles to become the third base coach until 2012 when it was announced he would not be returning to the team.
The question of who would replace Gene Lamont as the bench coach has been a big uncertainty for Tigers fans, and now it appears that incoming manager Gardenhire is going to stick with the staff he knows and worked extensively with in Minnesota.
