LAKELAND, Fla. – Pitchers and catchers have reported.
On Monday, the Detroit Tigers didn’t throw much. The younger crowd — led by American League rookie of the year Michael Fulmer — came out first to the practice fields. The older crowd — led by veteran ace Justin Verlander — came out next.
Today, during the first scheduled workout for pitchers and catchers, the real throwing will begin. Though many pitchers have thrown off a mound at least once this off-season, it will be the first look for coaches.
On paper, the Tigers project to have a solid pitching staff.
