In a little more than a month, Detroit Tigers pitchers and catchers will report for spring training.
They will report in Lakeland, Fla., on Feb. 18, and workouts will begin the following day.
Rich Dubee is the new pitching coach after Jeff Jones retired following 38 seasons in baseball.
Although the full squad doesn’t have to report until a few days later, some position players arrive early.
Two pitchers to watch are right-handed starter Anibal Sanchez, who missed time last season with shoulder soreness, and right-handed reliever Bruce Rondon, who was sent home early last season because of his effort level.
