DETROIT -- It's finally Sho-time at Comerica Park.
After sitting on the bench in the first two games of the series, two-way Japanese phenom Shohei Ohtani will start for the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night at Comerica Park.
This will be the only chance to see him in Detroit. Ohtani, who typically gets an off day after pitching, won't be in the lineup in the series finale on Thursday afternoon.
Ohtani hasn't pitched since May 20. He was originally the slated to pitch Sunday against the Yankees but was scratched for "workload management" reasons.
If he had started Sunday, Ohtani wouldn't have pitched at all in Detroit, but he would have been more likely to get some at-bats at the plate.
