LAKELAND, Fla. — The Detroit Tigers tied the Pittsburgh Pirates, 6-6, on Wednesday at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium, remaining at 1-3 (with two ties) in Grapefruit League play in spring training.
What happened
The Tigers and Pirates traded runs in the first inning, but left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez was smooth throughout his four-inning performance. He recorded five strikeouts without a walk.
"He wanted another inning," Tigers manager AJ Hinch said. "Super-efficient, really good stuff. Temp was very, very good. Keeping the defense involved. There was a lot to like with him, and he's hungry for more.
