Royals' two-out hitting dooms Detroit Tigers, 8-6, in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –Salvador Perez proved to be a Royal pain for the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night.

Perez hit a two-out, two-run double off starter Shane Greene in the third inning, then added a two-out, three-run home run off lefty Blaine Hardy in the fifth inning as the Tigers went on to lose, 8-6, to the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

Seven the Royals’ eight runs came with two outs. The Tigers failed to get a hit with the bases loaded in three different innings.

The Tigers were down 8-2 in the seventh inning, but Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit a two-out, three-run home run to cut the deficit to 8-5.
