Kansas City, Mo. — September is shaping up to be one long, slow goodbye for the Tigers.
The abysmal pitching that has plagued the team most of the season has reached new depths. After a 15-7 loss Thursday to the Royals — a game that took nearly four hours to play — Tigers pitching allowed 61 runs and 71 hits (20 in this one alone) on this six-game road trip.
Hard to win games allowing 10 runs per game.
The Tigers also lost shortstop Jose Iglesias in the third inning. He took a pitch off his right hand trying to lay down a bunt.
