Detroit — There's no tying in baseball. Well, except in the Romine household.
Kevin Romine had one career grand slam. And now his son, Andrew, has one — a mighty big one, blasted with two out in the fourth inning Wednesday to spark the Tigers' 5-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins on a sunny, cool day at Comerica Park.
With a right-hander on the mound in Kyle Gibson, Romine got the start in center over JaCoby Jones.
And manager Brad Ausmus' faith was rewarded by Romine's long home run to right field to turn a 3-1 deficit into a lead that it wouldn't relinquish.
