Robinson’s walk-off hands Tigers seventh straight loss

Washington, D.C. — And the beat goes on. The beatings do, anyway.

The Tigers losing streak is at seven. And counting. The Nationals won on a walk-off home run by pinch-hitter Clint Robinson in the bottom of the ninth off reliever Mark Lowe.

Tigers frittered away a 4-1 lead and lost 5-4.

The Tigers blew a golden chance to retake the lead in the top of the eighth inning, but again were thwarted by the kinds of mistakes that have ruined them in this losing streak.

Miguel Cabrera walked to lead it off, and that chased Nationals starting pitcher Stepgen Strasburg, who had struck out 11 in seven innings.
