New Detroit Tigers pitching coach Chris Bosio was in the middle of an answer about one of his former Chicago Cubs pupils when he got sidetracked by another thought.
"You know, Jake Arrieta reminds me a lot of a guy that I saw when he was pitching for a Division II program in Wisconsin."
That guy? Jordan Zimmermann.
Arrieta, 31, flourished under Bosio's instruction after struggling early in his career.
Zimmermann, also 31, has had the two worst years of his career after signing a huge contract with the Tigers before the 2016 season.
