Detroit – Unless the healing process accelerates dramatically, Jose Iglesias' chances of playing again this season seem remote.
"Before he's able to play, he'd have to take batting practice for a few days and I don't see that happening in the next couple of days at least," manager Brad Ausmus said.
Iglesias had another round of tests on the fractured middle finger on his right hand Friday. Ausmus said the results showed it was healing but he's not ready to resume any baseball activities.
Iglesias told reporters Friday night he wasn't going to rush the process and the most important thing was to be fully healthy for next season.
