Report: Tigers sign infielder Mike Aviles

The Tigers have signed utility man Mike Aviles, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

Last season, Aviles, 34,batted .231 with five home runs and 17 RBIs in 98 games for the Indians. He's previously played for the Red Sox and Royals. He played all three outfield positions as well as at second, shortstop and third.

In eight seasons, he's hit .265 with 58 home runs and 292 RBIs. The New York City native made $3.5 million last season.
