Former Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder is expected to announce that his career is over Wednesday, according Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.
After being traded to the Rangers following the 2013 season, Fielder, 32, appeared in only 42 games after undergoing neck surgery in May 2014.
This season, Fielder had a .212 batting average in 89 games but hasn't played since July 18. He was shut down after having his second neck surgery on July 29.
Fielder missed only eight games from 2008-2015 and played in all 162 games in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
