Former Tigers right-handed reliever Al Alburquerque has agreed to a one-year deal with the Angels, Jon Heyman reports.
The Tigers decided not tender a contract to Alburquerque, who was arbitration-eligible.
Alburquerque, 29, had been with the team for five seasons, posting a 17-6 record with a 3.20 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. He has been especially erratic the last two seasons, his ERA and WHIP ballooning to 4.21 and 1.54 last season.
He made $1.76 million last season and the projections were that he would get a raise to $2.1 million in arbitration.
