WASHINGTON -- The Detroit Tigers reportedly are adding some thump.
According to John Wagner of the Toledo Blade, the team is recalling outfielder Steven Moya from Triple-A Toledo. To make room on the 25-man roster, they will option left-handed reliever Blaine Hardy to the Mud Hens.
Moya, 24, is on a tear this season. In 31 games with the Mud Hens, he is hitting .310 with nine home runs and 24 RBIs.
Moya isn’t in line for consistent playing time -- he isn’t a defensive option in centerfield -- but played Wednesday night in leftfield.
