Detroit — The drought continues for Matt Boyd.
The Tigers starting pitcher has gone more than a month since his last win. He only gave up two runs through the first four innings Sunday night, but allowed home runs in the fifth and sixth.
The Rangers held on from there, taking a 5-2 win over the Tigers at Comerica Park. It was Boyd’s sixth straight start without a victory, a span which includes three no-decisions and three losses in the past month.
The Rangers moved ahead in the fifth, with a no-doubter home run by Mike Napoli — his 10th of the season — to straightaway center field.
