Ramon Santiago will be the Tigers new first base coach, per report

This week is set to be full of big coaching announcements as new Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire makes final decisions on his staff.

Gene Lamont is out as bench coach, and early on Tuesday it was announced Omar Vizquel would not return as the first base coach.

In a whirlwind of ex-Tigers news on Tuesday former infield utility player Ramon Santiago announced his retirement from professional baseball, and for good reason: he will be rejoining the Tigers as their new first base coach, as reported by Danny Knobler.
