The Major league baseball players association agreed that players will report for Spring Training 2.0 on July 1st. When the announcement came that the players and owners had agreed to a set of health and safety protocols, it became official that there will be baseball in 2020, coronavirus permitting.
One of the final hurdles was cleared when MLB agreed to the players’ proposal in the health and safety protocol that all players who cohabitate with a high-risk individual, including a pregnant spouse, has the right to opt out and be paid with service time. Previously, it was only high-risk players themselves who could opt out and still be paid.
