LAKELAND, Fla. — Parker Meadows, one of the Detroit Tigers’ most exciting prospects because he has such a high ceiling, got the big news on Saturday.
“Dave Owen (the Tigers’ director of player development) pulled me into his office,” Meadows said. “He told me, ‘You are going to be a big leaguer tomorrow.’”
“I said, ‘No way!’” Meadows said. “I was really excited.”
Parker called his parents to tell them that he was going to make his spring training debut for the Tigers on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves in Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium.
