N.Y. Yankees 8, Detroit 4: Ausmus canned in Tigers loss

The Detroit Tigers’ bats went cold. Tigers manager Brad Aumus got hot.

Ausmus was ejected in the fifth inning for arguing balls and strikes with home plate umpire Paul Emmel.

The Tigers were trailing 8-2 at that point. They went on to lose, 8-4, to the New York Yankees on Saturday at Comerica Park. It was the first loss of the season for the Tigers (3-1).

Buck Farmer had given up a two-run home run to Carlos Beltran in the fifth, then a walk to Starlin Castro. Ausmus was tossed for the eighth time as manager following the walk to Castro.
