KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- First it was the shoulder. Then it was the wrist.
Now Cameron Maybin's dealing with a tight left quadriceps muscle.
Maybin revealed his latest ailment to reporters Thursday before the Detroit Tigers kicked off their four-game series against the Kansas City Royals (8:15 p.m., FSD). He was held out of the starting lineup for a second time in four games, thought first to be for his nagging left wrist.
"I just found out about it when I came in," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said.
The Tigers injury-plagued centerfielder said he tweaked it scoring on Miguel Cabrera's double in the first inning of Monday's 10-9 extra-innings loss to the Chicago White Sox.
