The off-season upgrades to the Detroit Tigers' bullpen have manager Brad Ausmus already discussing set roles, something he didn’t want to do in the dog days of last summer.
“It’s really nice to be able to slot guys into roles in bullpens,” Ausmus said Thursday at Comerica Park, before the team embarked on its winter caravan across the state. “I think they like it. It gives them a little bit of comfort. They know when to get ready during the course of the game. Everybody on the field knows who is coming in, generally, in a given situation.
