HOUSTON – Alex Wilson hasn't been valuable.
"He's invaluable," Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said Sunday morning.
And after more than a week off with shoulder fatigue, the right-handed reliever was back in tow this series against the Astros — pitching in all three games — and will continue to serve as one of the back-end bullpen arms Ausmus will lean on during the stretch run.
Wilson allowed the winning hit in Sunday's 6-5 loss Sunday, a walk-off single to All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve on a first-pitch cutter that missed its location, but Ausmus said: "I don't know where we would be without him in the multiple roles and efficiency he's pitched with.
