DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers are not considering a stint on the disabled list for Miguel Cabrera, who planned to test his sore left bicep in the batting cage on Tuesday.
Cabrera left Sunday's game after feeling a twinge in his bicep while swinging. He didn't play on Monday and Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said he didn't plan on using him on Tuesday.
"The plan is for him not to play tonight, but he was going to go to the cage and see how he felt," Gardenhire said.
Gardenhire joked that Cabrera's eagerness to play may have been motivated by his strong record against Rays starter Chris Archer.
