Nixed for now: Tigers' Andrew Romine won't play all 9 positions in final homestand

DETROIT -- If Andrew Romine gets to play all nine positions in one game, it won't happen at Comerica Park.

If it happens at all, it will be in the final game of the season, Oct. 1 at Minnesota.

Even then, the only way manager Brad Ausmus would consider it is if the Twins have secured a wild card and the game has no significance in the standings.

Ausmus said he was concerned that pulling off the feat with almost two weeks still left in the season might be seen as a "sideshow."

So he's tabling the idea for now.
