Detroit Tigers right fielder Nicholas Castellanos got some stuff off his chest Friday about the distractions and frustrations he has felt this season over his uncertain future.
In a 15-minute interview at his locker before the opener of a three-game homestand against the Cleveland Indians, Castellanos touched on unproductive contract talks, trade rumors and turning down the team’s request to put him at first base — all while trying to maintain professional perspective while growing up in an organization and city he has come to love.
