LAKELAND, Fla. – The two-run home run Steven Moya hit during Sunday’s 9-2 victory over the Miami Marlins might have damaged a teammate’s automobile last year. The Detroit Tigers are parking in a different area this year because of renovations at Joker Marchant Stadium.
Moya’s blast over the rightfield wall went a long, long way. Manager Brad Ausmsus said he didn’t watch to see where it landed. Neither did Moya.
“Assume it went on the building somewhere,” Ausmus said. “I didn’t see it, but I knew it was gone. I wasn’t worried about where it landed.
