It didn't happen fast, but the Detroit Tigers finally made a move at the trade deadline, sending starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen to the Philadelphia Phillies.
The MLB trade deadline is at 6 p.m. ET on Aug. 1, meaning the clock is ticking for teams who want to add to their current rosters, and for teams who don't want to lose out on an opportunity to pick up an asset or two.
The Tigers certainly fall into the latter of those two categories as they currently sit 12 games below .500 and 6.5 games below the Minnesota Twins for first place.
