TORONTO -- Ron Gardenhire said he rarely holds team meetings, except on occasions when he needs a quick post-game venting "for my own health."
But the Detroit Tigers manager closed the clubhouse about two hours before Sunday's game at Rogers Centre to open the floor to players.
The Tigers have lossed 11 games in a row and multiple players are mired in slumps.
The Tigers haven't lost 12 consecutive games since 1996, a distinction this year's club will try to avoid in front of a sold-out crowd on Canada Day.
"It's a new month," Gardenhire said.
