DETROIT -- Miguel Cabrera suffered a strained oblique during batting practice on Wednesday and will miss two or three days, Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said.
Cabrera was scratched from the starting lineup 30 minutes before Wednesday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles.
Ausmus said he was diagnosed with a Grade 1 oblique strain, the mildest type of strain.
Cabrera spent 10 days on the disabled list earlier this year with a right groin strain. He was activated May 2 and has hit .224 with one home run in 12 games since his return. It was only the second time in Cabrera's 15-year career that he spent time on the disabled list.
