Miguel Cabrera helps Tigers snap 22-inning scoreless streak, beat Orioles

BALTIMORE -- The Detroit Tigers broke a 22-inning scoreless drought in the first and Miguel Cabrera drove in five runs to beat the Baltimore Orioles 9-5 Saturday night at Camden Yards.

Cabrera singled in the first, hit a three-run homer in the second and then added a two-run double in the fourth when left fielder Craig Gentry made an awkward and ill-advised dive on a sinking liner.

All the damage came against Orioles starter Andrew Cashner, who gave up seven runs in four innings. The Tigers tackled on a couple of insurance runs against the Orioles' bullpen, including a solo home run by Victor Martinez in the ninth.
