It started with a question about what Miguel Cabrera said to an umpire that got him ejected from the Detroit Tigers dugout between the first and second innings of Sunday afternoon’s 6-3 loss to the Red Sox.
He had been arguing balls and strikes, of course — he had just been called out to end the bottom of the first inning on an elevated breaking ball from Red Sox left-hander (and ex-Tiger) David Price, raising his hands on the way back to the dugout — and soon enough, Cabrera was off, a frustrated and talkative freight train who was not going to be stopped.
