Back in the spring, when all the Kansas City Royals were being presented their American League championship rings, Chris Getz felt a bit out of place.
Having joined the Royals' front office late in 2014, he didn't get one.
But he'll feel just dandy next spring when he slips on his World Series ring, after the Royals trounced the New York Mets in five games to take the 2015 crown.
"It's pretty surreal," Getz said Monday afternoon, shortly after landing back in Kansas City following a night of hearty celebration in New York.
"My first year on the job, to get a World Series ring, it's kind of a wild thought.
