That’s when Jordan Nwogu heard it from his Michigan baseball teammates and their laughs. He laughed, himself.
Then he got to the text messages after the game.
“Are you ok?”
“Lmao you ate dirt”
“Congrats, I hope your face is OK”
Nwogu, a sophomore from Ann Arbor, made everyone laugh in the top of the fifth inning in Monday night’s 2-0 win over Florida State in the College World Series. Running on a single to right field, he slid head first into third base, face-planted and flopped safely on.
