But with the Detroit Tigers and right-handed starting pitcher Michael Fulmer failing to come to a contract agreement Friday, the possibility looms larger than ever that the team will attend their first salary arbitration hearing since 2001 next month.
Fulmer, the Tigers’ ace who is rehabilitating from a season-ending surgery for the second straight season, is the team’s only arbitration-eligible player left unsigned.
