HOUSTON -- Turns out that catcher James McCann doesn't just have a knack for shutting down the running game. He's pretty aggressive when it comes to suspected sign-stealing, too.
When McCann walked toward the mound in the ninth inning of Wednesday night's game at Kansas City, it seemed to be a visit to calm young closer Bruce Rondon. But when McCann kept on walking past the mound for a few steps, it took on a whole different appearance.
The trip wasn't meant for Rondon. It was meant for the Royals' Alex Rios standing at second base.
