Mariners' walk-off win in 10th inning sends Tigers to 4th loss in a row

SEATTLE -- Kyle Seager ripped a game-winning single to right field in the 10th inning and was mobbed by teammates before he could reach second base.

Seager's hit scored pinch-runner Tyler Smith and led the Seattle Mariners to a 5-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night at Safeco Field.

The Tigers have now lost four games in a row.

Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann survived two tough innings at the outset before settling in to pitch a solid game. He recorded a season-high seven strikeouts and pitched his fourth consecutive Quality Start.

The story was similar for Mariners starter Ariel Miranda, who was battered early but settled down and retired 11 consecutive Tigers at one point.
