Live updates: Brantley takes Carpenter deep in 5th

Top 5th: Indians 6, Tigers 0

Michael Brantley took the first pitch of the fifth inning and blasted it over the wall in right-center field, pushing the Indians lead to 6-0.

Ryan Carpenter was allowed to stay in the game, and he got out of the frame without any further damage being done despite a two-out walk to Brandon Guyer.

Jose Ramirez flew out to right field on a nice running play by Niko Goodrum, and Francisco Lindor flew out to shallow center field for the first two outs of the frame. And though Carpenter followed that with the walk to Guyer, Yonder Alonso grounded out to end the inning.
