Bottom 3rd: Tigers 6, White Sox 2
Tim Anderson flung one deep to right field and over the head of the shallow J.D. Martinez, who couldn't pick up the ball on the first try and make the relay throw to keep the speedy leadoff hitter from getting to third base.
No need to worry, apparently, as Jordan Zimmerman ran toward the first baseline to get to a ball off the bat of Adam Eaton and spun around to toss it home and get Anderson caught in a rundown for the inning's second out.
Eaton advanced to second, but Zimmerman got Jose Abreu to ground out to shortstop to end the inning.
