Here’s how the inning transpired: Tigers left-handed reliever Daniel Stumpf earned the first out of the frame by retiring White Sox second baseman Yoan Moncada (ground out).
From there, Ausmus pulled Stumpf for right-hander Alex Wilson, who plunked White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu on the second pitch of the at-bat. The Tigers challenged the call on the field that Abreu was hit by the pitch (Abreu nearly swung as he was hit).
