Left-hander Justin Wilson took the ball for the Tigers in the eighth. He got Matt Reynolds to pop out to Miguel Cabrera at first base, before Curtis Granderson struck out looking. Alejandro De Aza flew out to Justin Upton in left field, to end the half inning. Going to the bottom of the eighth, the Tigers still lead, 4-2.
Bottom 7th: Thor done for Mets
The Mets went to their bullpen in the bottom of the seventh. Right-hander Erik Goeddel replaced starter Noah Syndergaard to start the half inning, tossing a scoreless seventh. He got Jose Iglesias to ground out to third base and Ian Kinsler to line out to right field, before striking out Tyler Collins to end the inning.
